If it is before the submission deadline, click the blue Edit button in the footer of the submission page to place your submission back in editing mode.
- Be sure to click Submit again before the deadline passes.
- Submissions left in editing mode after the deadline are considered incomplete, and may not be reviewed or considered.
If you are unable to edit the submission
There are several possible reasons why you would not be able to edit a submission.
1. Event organizers have locked certain fields from editing
If you can edit some fields, but other fields are read-only, the event organizers do not want submitters editing those locked fields.
- If you need to change the data in read-only fields, you must contact the event organizers directly to request the change.
- Do not use the CATALYST Technical Support contact form to request changes to read-only fields. Support has no authority to permit changes to locked fields.
2. You are signed in with a different account/email address
By default, submissions can only be edited by the account that created the submission, to keep your data secure.
- If you created a CATALYST account with one email address, but used a different email address as the contact or author information in a submission, there is no guarantee that second address will have access to that submission.
- We strongly recommend only using one email address/account in CATALYST.
- We advise using a secure password management software to help keep track of your login credentials.
3. You are a co-author and not the original submitter
Co-authors are not automatically granted view or edit access to a submission, unless the event organizers have opted in to this feature. Only the account used to create the submission is guaranteed full access. Why can't co-authors see the submission?
- This applies even if you are designated the contact, or primary author/presenter.
- The original submitter can click the "Share" button in the upper right of the submission to grant access to co-authors. How do I share my submission with others?
4. It is past the submission deadline in the system
Once it is past the deadline configured in CATALYST, all submissions are locked, regardless if they are complete or incomplete.
- If the event organizers announce an extension, they also need to change the deadline in CATALYST. If CATALYST is enforcing the original deadline, the organizers have not taken action to update the deadline.
- For questions about deadlines or to request an extension, please contact the association or event organizers directly. Check the event's website for contact information.
CATALYST Technical Support does not have the authority to extend deadlines, permit late submissions, or fill out submission forms on your behalf.
5. Web Browser, Platform, or Security Issues
If none of the above apply, you may be experiencing technical issues on your end which are interfering with CATALYST.
- You may be experiencing temporary browser issues. This happens from time to time. Sometimes quitting and relaunching your web browser, clearing your browser cache, or even restarting your computer will clear up the issue.
- You may be using an unsupported web browser or platform. Internet Explorer is discontinued by Microsoft and cannot be supported. CATALYST is not supported on tablet computers or phones.
- Security measures may be interfering with the form. This could be due to browser configuration, third party browser security software, or network security measures enforced by your employer/institution. Try using a different web browser, or a computer on a different network.
